Lagos- Col. (Rev) Dawuk Danfulani, Director of Chaplain Services (Protestant) Nigerian Army, has urged Christians to be positive contributors to the society.
Danfulani made the call in Lagos on Sunday during the 30th anniversary and thanksgiving service of the chaplaincy in the country.
He said that no negative contributor should be encouraged.
“What our nation needs today are those that would make a positive impact on the society and not terrorists, kidnappers, armed robbers nor insincere leaders,”he said.
According to him, as Jesus Christ demonstrated in his lifetime, we are called to live for the sake of others instead of being selfish citizens.
“Those who live for others never die, an ideal Christian must be a positive contributor, it takes a true believer to see others as products of same God,” he said.
He urged the youth to learn the examplary leadership skills of past leaders, especially those who had impacted positively on the society.
Also speaking, one of the past directors of the chaplaincy, Brig.-Gen. Robert Uhumuavbi, said the Nigerian Army would overcome Boko Haram.
“The current challenge is part of the persecution for the Church, we should not be discouraged, the soldiers should not lose hope, we must remain loyal,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the anniversary also hosted the past directors that served in the chaplaincy.(NAN)
