OSOGBO – An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday ordered the remand of Adio Faleye, 23, who is standing trial for armed robbery and unlawful possession of gun .
The prosecutor, Insp. Isiaka Ajadi, told the court that the accused and others, now at large, committed the offence on March 25 at about 1a.m. at Onibembe Area of Ikire, Osun.
Ajadi said the accused and his accomplices conspired and committed felony to wit armed robbery when they robbed one Oladoye Segun with a locally made gun.
The prosecutor also alleged that the accused robbed Segun of N7, 500 cash and two handsets valued at N7, 500.
He said the accused was caught at the point of arrest with the gun which was unlawfully procured.
Ajadi said the offence contravened Sections 1(1)(2)(a), 3(1), 6(b), 27(1)(b)(v) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol.11 Laws of Osun 2003.
The accused’s plea was however not taken because of the capital nature of the offence.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, ordered that the accused be remanded in Ilesha Prisons, and the case file forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.
He adjourned the case to May 27 for mention at Ikire Magistrates’ Court. (NAN)
