Ibadan – Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the resuscitation of zonal offices for the State Road Maintenance Agency (OYSROMA) to allow it to extend its operations to other parts of the state.
A statement issued by the state Ministry of Information quoted Mr Kamil Akinlabi, the OYSROMA Chairman, as saying this in Ibadan, on Saturday, while inspecting the ongoing rehabilitation of the University of Ibadan-State Secretariat road.
Akinlabi said that the resuscitation of the zonal offices was to facilitate more holistic and effective road rehabilitation and maintenance in all parts of the state.
He listed the zones as Oyo, Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa.
“We know for sure that the work being done within the Ibadan metropolis had to be extended to other parts of the state.
“But we were waiting for the approval so that we can have effective work done in all the communities in the state,” the OYSROMA boss stated.
Akinlabi also said that the agency would soon embark on a tour of facilities in all the zones.
“The routine rehabilitation and maintenance of our roads are ongoing and we are set to embark on a tour of the facilities in all the zones.
“This will enable us to have first hand information on state of the facilities with a view to making them functional once again,” he added. (NAN)
