Kaduna – Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society of Nigeria, says it plans to roll out programmes on education and health that will be beneficial to orphans and the vulnerable in Kaduna State.
Imam Musbahuddeen Raji, the Chief Imam of the society disclosed this during the official inauguration and seminar of the Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society in Kaduna on Sunday.
Raji said that the major target would be children at the primary and junior secondary schools who required basic education.
“Education is cardinal in all human spheres as it helps develop and strengthens peaceful coexistence and also controls security among people,” he stressed.
“The gesture is going to be all encompassing as scholarships will be given to the beneficiaries at the best of our abilities.
“We also intend to support school children with writing materials, text books and uniforms in order to help improve the education sector especially in the North where many are yet to access basic education,” he said.
Speaking on activities of the society at the forthcoming Ramadan fast, Raji said, they will be feeding about 200 Muslim and non-Muslims alike daily throughout the Holy Month.
He called on Muslim faithful to uphold peace which Islam preach always.
“Peace is a necessity and it’s what Islam is known to stand for, hence, Muslims should uphold and embrace peace always so that meaningful development could be achieved in our society,” he said.
Ameerah, Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society, Hajiya Sikrat Abdulsalam said the official inauguration of the Society in Kaduna was to enlighten people on its various activities.
“The Kaduna Branch has had various activities since 2007 which many people are not aware of, hence, the lunch,’’ Sikrat said.
She added that the society hold meeting o Sunday’s where it respond to spiritual needs of Muslim faithful.
“Al-Habibiyyah is an Islamic think-tank which areas of activities cut across education, Islamic and Western Dawah and mosque projects.
“It is a platform where all tribes and people from different socio-economic backgrounds meet, interact and promote the course of Islam as well as cater for needs of the less privileged,” she said.
