Abuja- The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, has condemned in strong terms, political violence in Port-Harcourt and Jos, respectively, where property belonging to both the PDP and APC were damaged.
In a statement signed by the Force Spokesman, Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu, on Monday, Abba said he was saddened by the pre-election violence which he described as an ugly development.

He, however, assured that the perpetrators of those “unacceptable and heinous acts’’ would not go unpunished as the police would do all it would take to bring them to justice.
Abba reminded politicians, party supporters and well meaning Nigerians, that politics was a means of empowering some with power and entrusting them with the commonwealth for the overall benefits of all.
The I-G also reminded them that politics needed to be played with sense of decorum devoid of religious, ethnic and other forms of primordial sentiments. (NAN)
