KAFIN-HAUSA (JIGAWA) – Alhaji Yusuf Babangida, the Special Assistant to Gov. Sule Lamido on [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”8″]Information, on Saturday called on butchers in Kafin-Hausa, Jigawa, to desist from slaughtering animals in open places.
Babangida made the call while speaking with newsmen in Kafin-Hausa.
He said it was hygienic for meat sellers to utilise the newly-constructed abattoir in the area to slaughter their animals.
He said that the abattoir was equipped with modern facilities to enhance supply of hygienic meat to consumers.
“The abattoir is designed to supply hygienic meat and milk to the communities.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10”]
“I call on the Butchers Union to sensitise its members to the dangers associated with slaughtering animals in the open,” he said.
Babangida also urged the Kafin-Hausa Local Government Council to ensure proper maintenance of the abattoir.
He also urged the people of the state to protect facilities provided in their respective communities such as water, schools, clinics and electrification projects. (NAN)
