ABUJA – The Federal Government on Wednesday advised Nigerians, especially people living in the North-East, to be vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons and movement to security agencies.
The Coordinator, National Information Centre, Mr Mike Omeri, gave the advice while giving update on

the security situation in the North-East at a news conference in Abuja.
Omeri said the advice became necessary as the insurgents were moving into different locations, including Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs) camps following heavy bombardment on their hideouts by troops.
The coordinator, who said that many of the terrorists had been fished out and arrested, however, did not give figures.
“At the appropriate time, we will parade them before newsmen, please bear with us,’’ he said.
Omeri commended the US for offering to assist the military to fight the insurgents in the areas of training and logistics.
He also commended Nigeria’s immediate neighbours for the assistance in the anti-terror war.
He urged Nigerians to support the nation’s military in their campaign to defeat the insurgents.
Omeri said there was need to boost the morale of soldiers who had laid down their lives for the unity, integrity and security of the nation and its citizens.(NAN)
