LAGOS – The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on Friday said it recorded N19.1 billion as revenue in March.
The command’s revenue profile showed an increase of N2.1 billion over the N17 billion generated in February.
The Area Controller, Charles Edike, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that it generated N9 billion, the same amount it earned as revenue in February, under the federation account.
He said the command was able to generate N10 billion into the non-federation account as against the N7 billion it generated into the account in February.
Edike said that while the command did not collect any duty on rice in February, it collected N1.9 billion in March.
A further breakdown showed that N600 million was collected as port levy as against the N649 million collected in February.
The controller said the command did not collect any Negotiable Duty Credit Certificate (NDCC) in March.
The NDCC is a payment document for the importation of raw materials. (NAN)
