Mohammed said October was exactly one year since he assumed office as the MD of the electricity company, charging staff to make him happier by hitting a new target of generating N5 billion in December 2023.
He said the N4 billion is not up to the amount of energy the company buys for distribution every month, revealing that JED buys N7 billion of energy every month for distribution.
“Despite the attainment of N4 billion, though impressive and huge. It is not even up to the amount of energy that we take. Our monthly billing is above N7 billion. So, we just crossed over 50% and this means that we have quite a lot of work to do”, Mohammed said while celebrating the staff of the company on the achievement and charging them to do more.
“To this effect, “I believe in you. I believe in your ability. I believe in your work and the ownership of the company that you have taken. By December, we shall cross another milestone of N5 billion”, the MD continued.
Promising to reward staff who have made the milestone achieved possible, Mohammed said: “Every staff that contributed, we will not go without rewarding you God’s willing.
“We will arrange for the Board to appreciate this milestone and we shall pass it across to everybody.
“The Board has always been in our support. They have approved the advancement of staff. Every staff that stays several years without promotion will first of all be advanced to the next level after which deserving staff will be promoted”, he said.

The MD was optimistic that if the company continued with positive revenue impacts, the staff of the company would enjoy it as management would not hesitate to support their well-being.
Responding, the Chief Operating Officer JED, Alhaji Mammanlafia Umar extolled the leadership acuity of the MD and thanked him for the achievement.
Mammanlafia in a statement signed by the Head, Corporate Communications JED, Dr. Friday Elijah, assured that the company would work towards the attainability of the targeted N5 billion.
