Abuja (Sundiata Post) – President of the 8th Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki has expressed sadness over the demise of the first elected governor of Yobe State and his colleague from the 8th Senate, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim.
Sundiata Post recalls that Senator Bukar Ibrahim died at the age of 75.
The two term governor of Kwara State said the Yobe-born politician was known for his dedication to the welfare of his constituents and made significant contributions to education, infrastructure, and healthcare, all aimed at improving the quality of life in Yobe State.
Saraki who took to his X account to extol the virtues of late Senator Bukar Ibrahim, extended condolences to his family, friends, associates and the people of Yobe State. He prayed that Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings and grants him a place in Aljannah Firdaus.
Saraki’s statement reads in full:
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.
It is with total submission to the Will of Allah (SWT) that I received the news of the passing of the first elected Governor of Yobe State and my colleague from the 8th Senate, Senator Bukar Abba Ibrahim, fondly referred to as the “father of Yobe politics,” at the age of 75.
Senator Bukar Ibrahim was a renowned politician known for his dedication to the welfare of his constituents. He made significant contributions to education, infrastructure, and healthcare, all aimed at improving the quality of life in Yobe State.
As the nation mourns his passing, I extend my condolences to his family, friends, associates and the people of Yobe State. I pray that Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings and grants him a place in Aljannah Firdaus. Ameen.
