Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has affirmed that the Nigeria Police will align with the Federal Government on the issue of state police.
This revelation was made by Deputy Inspector General, South West Geopolitical Zone, Sylvester Abiodun Alabi during an official visit to the Osun State Police Command on Thursday.
Representing the IGP, Alabi said, “It is for the Federal Government to decide on state police and it is for us to key into it.”
Alabi said he was in the state on the directives of the IGP to interact, appraise and address challenges of the rank and file in the command.
The DIG noted that such interaction and feedback by officers and men in the field is necessary in order to assess the crime fighting capabilities of the men.
