The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the gubernatorial election in Taraba State inconclusive and called for a run-off in areas where votes were cancelled on or before April 29.
Taraba State governorship election Returning Officer, Prof Mohammed Kyari, who made the declaration, explained that the total numbers of votes cancelled was more than the margin with which the PDP was leading the APC.
A total number of 127, 125 votes were cancelled in the state while PDP is leading with the margin of 54, 812 votes.
Our correspondent reports that the governorship election results declared by INEC showed that the PDP polled 317, 198 votes while APC polled 262, 386 votes.
He said since the margin with which the PDP was leading the APC was less than the cancelled votes, a winner cannot be declared until a runoff election is conducted in the affected areas where votes where cancelled.
