ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – As the Muslim jummah join their global counterparts to mark Eid el Maulud, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on Nigerians to use the celebration for sober reflection and prayers for the nation as the Present administration navigate through the economic challenges to deliver on the renewed hope agenda for the development of the country.
Director General of NOA, Mall. Lanre Issa- Onilu made the call in a message of felicitation to the Muslim faithful, noting that Nigeria was in dire need of citizens and leadership that will exemplify the virtues of selflessness, tolerance, peace, love and fairness; virtues he said the Prophet Mohammed displayed, the statement signed by the Deputy Director, Press, Paul Odenyi said.
According to the statement, the DG urged the Muslim ummah to rally its supplication to God for wisdom and guidance of President Ahmed Tinubu to take Nigeria to its place among the community of developed nations.
He further urged Nigerians to shun the temptation of using the public holiday to engage in any form of lawlessness, adding that government has put necessary measures in place to ensure that the lives and properties of Nigerians are adequately protected during the holiday and beyond.
