NUJ commends Kebbi Govt’s approval of 22 % weigh in allowance

Birnin Kebbi – The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), in Kebbi State, has commended Gov. Saidu Dakingari for approving the implementation 22 per cent media workers weigh in allowance.

Alhaji Tukur Dutsin-Mari, Chairman of NUJ in the state, made the commendation in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday.

He said the implementation of the weigh in allowance would motivate media workers to do more in the state.

Dutsin-Mari urged media workers in the state to reciprocate the gesture by rededicating more efforts in the discharge of their duties.

He appealed to the State Government to further equip the state-owned radio and television stations in line with the current digitization policy.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]

The NUJ chairman also urged the state government to improve the performance of journalists through sponsorship and use of modern information technology.

The Chairman of Radio, Television and Theater Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), Alhaji Abubakar Chika, also commended the state government for implementing the weigh in allowance.

He appealed to the state government to ensure prompt release of fund to the state owned radio and television stations for efficient and effective service delivery. (NAN)
