Johannesburg – The retail price of petrol in South Africa will decrease by 3.7 per cent from August 5, while wholesale diesel will decrease 6.5 percent, the energy department said on Friday.
In a statement, the department said petrol would cost 13.26 rand ($1.05) in the commercial hub of Gauteng province, while diesel would be 10.94 rand.
The government adjusts the price of fuel every month, factoring in global oil prices and the rand exchange rate. (Reuters/NAN)
