Geneva – The International Organisation for Migration (OIM) on Monday in Geneva said the number of migrants saved from the Mediterranean each day exceeded 1000.
IMO said in a statement that most rescues took place off the Italian and Greek coasts.
It said the number of migrants who have crossed the Mediterranean to Europe had risen to 237,000 and has already exceeded the total number for 2014.

The organisation said that at this rate the number of landings would rise to 250,000 by the end of August.
IMO said that in 2014 they totaled 219,000. (AGI/NAN)
