So there’s bog standard Android Phones that we all know and love as well as quality Android Tablets. Then there are the products which are a little bit more out there, like Android Auto (which can control your car!) or Android TV. But if you delve a little deeper, you can find some truly absurd Android products that have probably sold around 20 units worldwide. Here I’ll be discussing some of the Android products you haven’t heard of, and probably for good reason.
MetaTrend Espresso Maker. Yep, so while you’re making a cup of coffee, you can indulge yourself with a little bit of Fruit Ninja or Angry Birds while you wait. There’s an app called “Appresso” which lets you play apps while waiting for your coffee, as well as letting you read QR codes from various packets of coffee (for whatever reason you want). How many packets of coffee even have QR codes on them?! This fills a pretty niche market considering espressos really don’t take that long to make. If you get bored that easily, then you might want to look into that!
But it gets even weirder. Like the VizualLogic Android-Powered Headrest System, which is simply a tablet embedded into a headrest. But why would you want this? Why not just buy a tablet? At least you can carry tablets around the house, or hold them comfortably in the car, so why stick it into a headrest? VizualLogic seems to be quite embarrassed about this product too, which is why it doesn’t show up much on their site. Quite the pointless product, and more of an experiment rather than an innovation.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Have you ever thought while standing in front of your fridge “man, I wish this fridge was Android powered!” No? Yeah, me neither, but Samsung’s RF4289HARS is just that. While you’re filling up your water at the fridge, why not download some apps (because we all love apps on the fridge). I didn’t even know a fridge with Wi-Fi was even in demand, but for that one guy who wanted it, Samsung has delivered. Much like the MetaTrend Espresso Maker, this is quite the pointless product.
There are some really weird ones here, but there’s also some useful ones. Like the Touch Revolution Washer/Dryer. It’s pretty cool to be able to program your washer depending on exactly what clothes you put in and at the touch of a button the washer automatically starts. So chuck in your party clothes, select the party clothes settings and your clothes will come out exactly how you want them. It does save some time changing the settings all the time depending on whites, colours, delicates and whatnot. A lot more useful than the other stuff we’ve seen on this list!
But one of the best unknown Android products is the SectorQube Technologies MAID Microwave. A programmable, Android microwave. Imagine just popping in a casserole, hitting the casserole settingand having the perfectly cooked casserole gifted to you.
So there you have it, although Android is most commonly found on phones and tablets, you’ll occasionally find one embedded into your fridge, or the back of your headrest. Let us know in the comments what absurd Android products you’d like to see!
