Bafarawa presented the money at the start of the two-week registration holding in all the 23 local governments.
Alhaji Ibrahim Milgoma, an aide to the former governor, who presented the money, advised members to focus on building a strong and united PDP that would win elections.
Also speaking, the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mukhtari Shagari, said that the party was prepared to take over Sokoto State in 2015.
“PDP in Sokoto is intact and it is the party to beat. The party is for peace, unity, justice, fairness and national understanding,” Shagari declared.
The Deputy Governor appealed to members of the party to remain united and live in peace with everybody irrespective of political party differences.
Also speaking, the acting chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi Santali, said that 400,000 membership cards would be distributed to the 244 wards in the 23 local governments. (NAN)
