MINNA (SUNDIATA POST)- The wife of Niger Governor, Hajiya Fatima Bago, has organised three-day special Fidda’u prayer for late Hajiya Zainab Garba, wife of the state Deputy Governor.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prayer session was held at the Justice Legbo Kutigi Conference Centre in Minna on Friday.
The deceased died on Tuesday after a brief illness leaving behind her husband and two children.
Bago expressed sadness over the death of Zainab, adding that her demise has thrown the state into a moment of grief.
“Her death came as a shock and we are saddened about it, we can not question Allah, because He is the giver of life and He takes it when it pleases Him.
“We are gathered here to pray for her soul for Allah to make the grave easy for her,” she said.
Bago called on the people of the state to continue to pray for the soul of the deceased, adding that her death should serve as a lesson to all that death was inevitable.
NAN reports that prayers were offered by various renowned Islamic cllerics such as Malama Kadijat Zukogi, among others. (NAN)
