There has been a bomb blast this afternoon in Kano in which the School of Hygiene was attacked.
The school is said to be close to the residence of the inspector-general of police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar.
The suicide bomber was said to have been arrested by security men after he had parked the car containing bombs inside the school around the cafeteria area.
According to our source, it was while the security men of the school where questioning the bomber, the blast went off from where he had parked the car. They held him and noticed that he was also strapped some other bombs on his body such that his clothes appeared bulging. He was beaten to a pulp and handed over to the police, according to our source.
The casualty figure is not yet known but our source said some girls were in the cafeteria at the time of the blast.
