Bwari (FCT)- As voters awaited accreditation to exercise their franchise at the polling unit in Dutse Alhaji primary school of Bwari Area Council, FCT, hawkers of snacks and sachet water recorded good sales.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview on Saturday in Abuja, Mr Jacob Ahua, said it was his first time of selling wares on election day.
Ahua expressed delight at the level of sales he recorded at the polling unit despite his late arrival.
“The level at which people are buying the snacks and drinks is very encouraging, in fact I wish I had come earlier to make more sales.”

He commended the input of the security agents on ground, adding that the polling unit was very serene for the electorate to exercise their franchise.
Another trader, simply called “Mr Jabiru”, said he had almost finished many bags of sachet water he bought the previous day.
According to him, the level of patronage at the polling unit was the highest he has had since he started doing the business.
He, however, failed to disclose the exact amount of money he made as profit.
NAN observed that while the voter accreditation was going on those on queue filed out to help themselves with available snacks to keep them strong to withstand the rigour of polling.
Voting at many centres started at 2:55 p.m. and ended at 6:25 p.m., even though no fewer than five centres finished voting at 7:37 p.m. in the area.
Counting of the votes cast commenced after the polling at centres where voting ended. (NAN)
