Buyers and visitors at the ongoing 27th Lagos International Trade Fair have been enjoying free services and promotions offered by both local and foreign exhibitors.
Some of the visitors told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the fair on Tuesday that the 2013 edition was better than that of the previous years.
Mrs Grace Ejikeme, a representative of Linda Manufacturing Ltd., manufacturers of X-pression Weaves, told NAN that the company was making free hair-do for women on the purchase of their hair extensions.
She said that the free hair-do, which started on the first day of the fair, would last till the end.
Ejikeme said that the company also organised a quiz competition, as well as a question and answer session where no fewer than 50 winners were offered gifts.
A beneficiary of the services, Mrs Itunuoluwa Ajayi, said that it was a laudable arrangement by the company. Another visitor, Blessing Armstrong, said she rushed to the fair ground because her friend got a free hair-do.
Another company, Ladystar Chocolates, had commenced a talent hunt competition entitled: “Display Your Talent for a Prize”.
The company’s sales representative, Mr Anayo Ekwueme, said that prizes like generators, standing fans, and mobile phones were being given to the winners.
Mr Ebubechukwu Nwoke, also a visitor to the fair, said that items were cheaper at the fair, compared with that of the previous years.
Also, Mrs Silifat Akinboye, another visitor, said that she had saved some money to get cheap domestic items at the fair.
A Nigerian based in Togo, Mr Johnson Aderounmu, said that the fair had boosted the economy and the image of the country.
He urged the Federal and Lagos State Governments to invest more in improving the status of the fair, to make it one of the biggest in Africa.
