OSLO – A 57-year-old former doctor was sentenced by the Oslo district court on Thursday to nine years in prison for having drugged and raped several young men.
According to the verdict, the accused was also ordered to pay 725,000 kroner (120,000 dollars) to five of his victims.
Prosecutors charged that the man, who lost his medical license in 2001, was found to be in possession of indecent images of young children and to have committed drug-related offences.
The former doctor was convicted of five counts of rape of young boys and men aged 17 to 21 from 2006 to 2012.
The victims were drugged with a mixture of alcohol and drugs before being sexually assaulted.
In several cases, he took pornographic pictures of his victims and did the same thing to a young woman.
Report says that the man came into contact with the young people at clubs or through online chatting.
However, the court said that the defendant had been convicted of similar crimes several times in the last 15 years. (Xinhua/NAN)
