Lagos – Mr Olaitan Adams, a travel and tour guide with First Guide Travel Agency, on Wednesday urged the Federal Government to develop more tourist sites in the country.
Adams told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that tourism had much potential to contribute to the nation’s Gross Domestic Product.
“Tourism has the potential to boost the economy of a country and increase its foreign reserves if it is adequately invested in,” he said.
Adams said that the country was blessed with lots of attractive centres that needed little attention to make them more attractive to foreigners.
“Almost every state in the country has a tourist potential site that can be made attractive to tourists,’’ he said.

Adams said that the large number of foreigners that visit the nation’s tourist sites would afford the nation more revenue into its economy.
“Some countries such as Dubai make a lot of money from their tourist attraction centres alone,” he said.
Adams said that it would make the country proud if the necessary authorities could come up with a plan to market more of the nation’s tourist sites. (NAN)
