Ogbomoso (Oyo State)- A political group, Team Akala, says the adoption of former Governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala, as the Labour Party governorship candidate in Oyo State is a good step for the party’s victory in 2015.
The team, which is championing the return of the former governor, said this in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Mr Niran Adeyoju in Ogbomoso on Wednesday.
Adeyoju commended the five governorship aspirants who withdrew for Alao-Akala, saying it was a good spirit channeled to enhance the development of the state in 2015.
The group described the turnout at the congress as impressive, adding that it was an affirmation that the people of the state wanted Alao-Akala to return.
“Despite the short notice, thousands of lovers of development and fans of Alao-Akala thronged the venue of the congress to identify with him, in his bid to continue his transformational work in the state.
“ This is impressive and it further affirms the confidence reposed in him by the populace,’’ he said.(NAN)
