IBADAN- As the 2023 general elections draws nearer, the Accord in Oyo State has named Chief Adegboyega Adegoke as the Director-General of its campaign council.
Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the Accord governorship candidate in the state made this known on Thursday at the inauguration of the party’s campaign council in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event featured the unveiling of Prof. (Mrs) Abiodun Ayandele, who hails from Ogbomoso Town, as the Deputy Governorship candidate of the party.
NAN reports that Adegoke is the Executive Director, OES Energy Services Ltd., the founder, Adegboyega Adegoke Resource Centre (AARC) and the Aare-Onibon of Ibadanland.
Among others appointed were Sen. Ayoade Adeseun (Chairman); Chief Kunle Sanda (Vice-Chairman), Adelabu and his deputy governorship candidate, Ayandele.
Others were Dr (Mrs) Adebukola Ajaja, who represented the National Executive on the council, while Prince Kolade Ojo; Yinka Dahiro and Ayo Oyadeji, were members of the state executives.
Adelabu said that the party has no fewer than 10,000 members of proven integrity, who were
carefully selected to be on the campaign council.
The governorship candidate said that the party was progressing with quality members defecting to the party on daily basis.
He said that the party remained a major force in the state, assuring members of victory in the forthcoming general elections.
In his remarks, Adegoke promised to perform his responsibility with passion for the victory of all Accord candidates in the state.
He urged all members to unite and intensify their campaign, saying that all the party’s candidates must emerge victorious in the general elections.
Also Adeseun called for synergy among the candidates and members of the party in the state ahead of the general elections.
He lauded the party members for their untiring campaign, saying that they need to intensify efforts for their candidates to emerge victorious in the election.
Sanda, Ajaja and a former Speaker of the State Assembly, Gunju Ojo, in their separate remarks, urged members to intensify their campaign strategies.
The trio assured members that the party would form the next government in the state.
NAN reports that the event was attended by the party’s senatorial candidates, Shina Peller (Oyo North); Nurudeen Faozey (Oyo Central); Kolapo Kola-Daisi (Oyo South) among other party candidates.(NAN)
