Ninzom youths in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State yesterday defended their wives nude protest before the state governor, Alh. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero.
They said their women protested in nude to show the level of their anger over government’s negligence to provide security.
They added that nude protest by widows was a culture of the majority of native people of Sanga local government as a sign of anger. [eap_ad_2] The national president of Nizom Ninzom Progressive Youths(NPY), Mr. Bezard Wuyah, spoke to newsmen after hundreds of nude women protested in Fadan Karshi, Sanga LGA, during the condolence visit of Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero to the village that had seen several attacks with a total death toll of 300 since July this year.
Meanwhile, the Southern Kaduna Indigenes Progressive Forum (SKIPFO) yesterday berated the visit of Yero to Sanga, saying it was a show of force and lack of empathy to the victims going by what it said was the huge number of armed security men that escorted him to the place.
Wuyah said, “It has come to the notice of Ninzom youths that some people have been taking advantage of the display of anger by widows who demonstrated half naked before the governor to seek for favour.
“I want to make it clear that the women who demonstrated were from Gwandara, Nandu, Mada, Numana, Nimzom and Gwantu. (Leadership) [eap_ad_3]
