LOKOJA – Kogi United FC of Lokoja says they will start screening new players from Jan. 2 in preparation for the Nigeria National League new season.
The Team Manager of the club, Henry Ameh, made the disclosure in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lokoja.
Ameh said that the screening, scheduled to last five days would enable the club to discover new players who would join retained players from last season.
“We have decided to draw back our resumption date to allow for the screening of players we need to beef up the team.
“This will be done within the shortest period because we want to get the best preparation for the Feb. 7, date slated for the commencement of the league.”
He said that the old players would join the club from Jan. 7.
NAN reports that Kogi United FC picked 42 points in the just-concluded season. (NAN)
