Kano – The Legal Aid Council (LAC) in Kano State says it has received 36 cases from members of the public from January to March, this year.
The State Coordinator of the council, Alhaji Abubakar Umar, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Thursday.
Umar said of the total number of cases filed by aggrieved persons before the council, 25 were criminal cases while the remaining 11 were civil cases.
He said that the council had disposed 11 out of the total number of cases within the period under review.
Umar also disclosed that the council had introduced a new client comment card known as (Initial Visitors) as part of efforts to enhance its operations.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“When complainants come to the office, we listen to them and give them the Client Comment Form to fill and send it to our head office monthly.
“This is to enhance our activities and feedback on what we are doing,’’ the coordinator said.
He said that most of the civil cases were based on inheritance, marriage, debt and land disputes. (NAN)
