Sango-Ota (Ogun) – A 22-year-old man, Shola Olanrewaju, was on Wednesday arraigned at an Ota Senior Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly stealing a Bajaj Motorcycle valued at N220,000.
Olanrewaju, who resides at 11, Iyana Ilogbo, Ota, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Chudu Gbesi, told the court that accused stole the motorcycle with registration number AGB 459 WN belonging to one Solomon Kolade on Dec. 14, 2015.
He said that offences were committed at about 8.25 p.m. in Ota.
Gbesi said that the offences contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Vol.1, Law of Ogun, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Senior Magistrate, Mr S.O. Banwo, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000, with one surety in like sum.

Banwo directed that the surety should reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should be gainfully employed.
He said that the surety should also produce evidence of payment of tax to the state government, submit four passport photographs to the court and produce reasonable means of identification.
Banwo adjourned the matter till Jan. 11. (NAN)
