Lagos – A 57-year-old man, Ismaila Arepo, who allegedly pull-down a fence belonging to Que Iboe Church, was on Thursday granted N100,000 bail by an Igbosere Magistrates’ Court , Lagos.
The Magistrate, Mr Martins Owumi, also granted Arepo two sureties in like sum, as part of the bail condition.
He then adjourned the case to May 16 for mention.
The accused, who resides in Abule Egba area of Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of malicious damage and breach of peace.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Steven Molo, had told the court that the accused committed the offences on Dec. 24, 2015, at noon, at No. 8, Thompson St., Abule Tailor, Lagos.
He said that the accused destroyed the fence because of the disagreement he had with the owners of the church over ownership of the premises.
“The accused conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by pulling down a fence,” he said.
Molo said the offences contravened sections 57(a) and 337 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. (NAN)
