The Sokoto chapter of the Association of Commercial Motorcyclists of Nigeria, on Friday, announced that members would no longer operate after midnight in the State.
The chairman of the association, Alhaji Chika Gobirawa, made the announcement at a news conference in Sokoto.
He said the withdrawal of service affected all the members of the association across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
Gobirawa said the decision was taken for security reasons.
“Any member of the association who is arrested for flouting the ban will be punished.’’
He also warned members of the association not to flout the order restricting movements during the monthly sanitation.
“There is restriction of movement between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. every last Saturday of the month observed as sanitation day’’, he said.
The chairman pledged that the association would partner with security agencies to ensure the security of lives and property in the state.
