Motorcyclists withdraw midnight service in Sokoto State

The chapter of the of Commercial Motorcyclists of , on Friday, announced members would longer operate after midnight in the State.

The of the , Alhaji Chika Gobirawa, made the announcement at a news conference in .

He said the withdrawal of affected all the members of the across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

Gobirawa said the decision was taken for security reasons.

“Any member of the association is arrested for flouting the ban will be punished.’’

He also warned members of the association not to flout the order restricting movements during the monthly .

“There is restriction of movement between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. every last Saturday of the month observed as day’’, he said.

The pledged the association would partner with to ensure the security of lives and property in the state.
