…As Shehu Sani blasts Pantami, Bashir Ahmad, says they condone bloodshed and kidnappings in the North for eight years

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Erstwhile Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Prof Isa Ali Pantami has hinted that he facilitated a donation of fifty million naira (N50,000,000.00) for the release of the remaining five family members after speaking to the father of late Nabeeha who was killed by her abductors whom he learnt have threatened to kill the remaining family members still in their (abductors) net.
Pantami who disclosed this via his X account @ProfIsaPantami (formerly twitter), lamented he is personally not in support of paying ransom to criminals. however, since it becomes clear, we lost our daughter Nabeeha yesterday, and the 5 remaining daughters have been threatened, he spoke with a friend and a brother who offered to pay the remaining 50 million Naira of the 60m immediately.
This is coming as Bashir Ahmad had also advocated for a “national law” that mandates capital punishment as a penalty for kidnapping and banditry. He made the call also via his X account @BashirAhmaad.
However, in a swift reaction, former federal lawmaker that represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th Senate, Senator Shehu Sani has blasted the duo for their remarks, accusing them of keeping quiet and condoning the bloodshed and kidnappings in the North for eight years. Stressing that they ignored the corpses of their brothers and sisters and were more interested in defending their President.
The Kaduna-born politician who maintained that they were silent when about 63,111 persons were killed and double that number were kidnapped including 1,680 students, added that they lost their voice because the person at the helm then was their kinsman. They found their voice today because the person at the helm now is not their kinsman, he stated.
Sundiata Post recalls that while Prof Isa Ali Pantami was the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy throughout President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight years in ofice as President, Bashir Ahmad was Digital Communication Assistant to Buhari. Nigeria recorded the highest incidents of killing by bandits and kidnappers.
The former minister’s statement released via his X account reads in full:
“Alhamdu lil Laah!
I am personally not in support of paying ransom to criminals. However, since it becomes clear, we lost our daughter Nabeeha yesterday, and the 5 remaining daughters have been threatened, as I spoke with the father on the matter yesterday and today.”
“Furthermore, I spoke with a friend and a brother who offered to pay the remaining 50 million Naira of the 60m immediately. I conveyed the account number of the father of pur daughters, Mansoor Al-Kadriyar, to the friend and brother to send the money directly. Any additional amount earlier generated from yesterday, the father can use to treat the daughters and other family members in sha Allah.”
“May the Almighty Allah reward the bother and friend with Jannatul Firdaus for the donation. May He also reward all those who contributed in any way with Jannatul Firdaus, too. May He also forgive Nabeeha and rescue her sisters. May the Almighty also help our security agencies to bring an end to these challenges. May Nigeria be a better place for all of us.”
