LAGOS – The naira on Friday depreciated further against some major international currencies at the official, parallel and black markets.
The naira, at the official market, traded for N158.41 to a dollar from N156.09 traded on Monday, Nov.17.
At the Bureau De Change (BDCs), otherwise known as the parallel market, the Naira depreciated by N4 to sell for N181.5 against the dollar from the N177.5 it sold on Nov.17.
At the black market, the Naira sold for N181.5 against the dollar from the N177.5 it maintained at the beginning of the week.
Also, at the official market, the Naira against the pounds sold for N247.65 when compared with the N244.17 it traded on Nov. 17.
The Naira at the BDCs also fell by N5 to sell for N283from the N278 it recorded against the Pound Sterling on Nov.17.
At the bLack market, it sold for N281 against the pound sterling from the N279 traded at the beginning of the week.
The Naira against the Euro depreciated by N2.93 at the official market to sell for N197.96 against the Euro from the N195.03 it sold on Monday.
Besides, it dropped by N6 against the Euro at the BDC, selling for N223 from the N217 it sold on Monday.
It also lost N2 against the Euro at the black market, selling for N272 from the N270 it sold on Monday. (NAN)
