NASARAWA – Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani, the Chairman Nassarawa Local Government Council of Nassarawa State has urged the people to shun ethnic, political and religious sentiments and embrace peace and unity, to ensure the development of the country.
Tijjani made the appeal on Monday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) at the council’s headquarters in Nasarawa.
He appealed to the people to support the present administration in the state to enable it to execute more projects toward the development of the state and the country at large.
Tijjani said that the council was ready and determined to improve the standard of living of its people, especially reducing poverty among women and youths within the council area.
To this end, he said that the council planned to sink 10 boreholes in various locations within the council.
He promised that the council would initiate more projects that would improve the living standard of the people and commended Gov Tanko Al-Makura for executing various projects in the state.
He said that the projects, when completed, would reduce the problem of water shortage being experienced by various communities within the area.
Tijjani disclosed that the projects would be located in Nasarawa, Ara and Udege Development Areas of the council.
He said that the projects were part of the campaign promises made to the electorate. (NAN)
