Abuja (Sundiata Post) – A Non-governmental organization (NGO) christened Paradise Mission for Widows and Teenage Girls, has extended its philanthropic gesture to the people of Rivers State communities and have treated over 380 adults including 83 Children.
The founder of the NGO, Amb. Jane Egbo, said 72 persons were also treated for eye checks and were also given 35 glasses for free.
Egbo said the benefiting community in Rivers State was drawn from Ogba Egbema Ndoni and had people who were not expecting to be treated but were amazed that doctors were also on ground to run various types of tests, administer drugs to patients.
She said 8 medical doctors, four pharmacists, four nurses and five lab scientists accompanied the NGO for the free medical trip to Rivers.
“We Carried out tests for HIV, Diabetes, Malaria, Typhoid and Eye examination.
“We just don’t want to start giving medication without knowing what was wrong with the people.
“Beneficiaries were surprised that we came prepared not just to give paracetamol and vitamin C, but to give full treatment just as can be obtained in the hospital.
“The turning point for us is the preaching of the gospel and about 24 people gave their lives to Jesus Christ”, Egbo said.
She added that her NGO has been concentrating its efforts in the Northern part of the country, but was instructed by God to extend its philanthropic gesture to Southern Nigeria.
