Kaduna – The Kaduna State branch of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has appealed to the state government to settle the over N3 billion outstanding workers’ leave grant.
Mr Jabiru Danlami, state President of NULGE, made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Kaduna.
Danlami said local government workers in the state had not received their leave grant for six years.
According to him, the officials of the state government and the leadership of the union met in March 2015 and agreed that the outstanding amount be settled.

“The state government has asked the union to summit all our bills for leave grant and transport allowance for it to be computarised for payment.
“Though some of the local governments are managing to pay from their internally generated revenue, most are still owing for between three and six years, “ Danlami said.
The NULGE boss advised the state government to pay the money in instalment in view of the huge amount involved.(NAN)
