EBONYI (Sundiata Post) – The Governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has expressed concern over the delayed payment of salaries and pensions to local government workers in the state.
Nwifuru viewed it as worrisome and has directed chairmen of the 13 local government areas of the state to ensure that all outstanding payments are made by 2 pm on Monday, December 23, 2024.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Monday Uzor.

Governor Nwifuru emphasised his commitment to delivering good governance anchored on the people’s charter of needs, stating that they will not be sabotaged in executing the social contract with the people.

“By 2 pm tomorrow, all the staff of the Local Government should receive their salaries and pensions,” the CPS said in a statement on Sunday.

“We are determined to deliver good governance to our people. If you are for us, you join us in what we are doing, if you are not you leave”.

“If by 2 pm tomorrow, staff are not paid October and November salaries, the chairmen should resign,” the Governor insisted.

Local government employees in Ebonyi state are owed salaries for October and November.
