The former Super Eagles captain has been ruled out to contest as president of the Nigeria Football Federation in the forthcoming election
Former Nigeria international Segun Odegbami has been ousted in the race to become the next president of the Nigeria Football Federation as he did not make the shortlist of candidates cleared for the election released on Wednesday.
Also evicted from the race are acting President Mike Umeh and former Secretary General of the Nigeria Football Association Taiwo Ogunjobi.
Addressing journalists after the screening exercise, chairman of the electoral committee Amoni Biambo revealed that the duo of Chris Giwa and Felix Obuah will contest to emerge as the next NFF president.
Biambo explained that Segun Odegbami was not cleared because he did not attach a receipt to the nomination form which was an indication that he was not endorsed from his South-West zone while acting president Mike Umeh was not cleared because he obtained a form for the position of vice president but returned it as a presidential candidate.
For Taiwo Ogunjobi, he noted that the former NFF scribe is still under ban from participating in football related activities hence, not qualified to contest.
