The Nigerian Army has released Clement Ikolo, the King of Ewu Kingdom, who had been detained in connection with the killing of 17 personnel in Okuama community, Delta, on March 14. Ikolo surrendered himself after being declared wanted alongside seven other suspects.
He was handed over to Senator Ede Dafinone by Maj.-Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu, the Director of Army Public Relations, after preliminary investigations found insufficient evidence of his culpability.
However, the manhunt for those responsible for the crime continues. The release underscores the army’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and justice. Ikolo expressed gratitude for the fair treatment he received and pledged to cooperate with the army in apprehending the perpetrators.
Senator Dafinone commended the army for its professionalism in handling the crisis and affirmed that Ikolo was treated with dignity.
