The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has passed a vote of confidence on its Caretaker Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, describing him as a man of unquestionable integrity.
This is contained in a statement signed by its Assistant Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Ayobami Adejumo, made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the party in the state has been engulfed in crisis over alleged irregularities and manipulation of the congress’ list.
NAN recalls that the party’s caretaker secretary, Mr Mojeed Olaoya had on Nov. 4 at a meeting in Abuja and through social media, accused the chairman of being fraudulent.
The statement noted that the APC during an emergency executive meeting held in Ibadan, condemned in its entirety, the behaviour of Olaoya.
It disclosed that the party’s executive members in the state had called on Olaoya to apologise in writing to both the chairman and the party.
The statement announced that the party resolved that Oke is trustworthy, efficient, hardworking, creative, prudent and with proven integrity, while restating full confidence in his capability to lead.
It said that the party had urged him to continue running its affairs pending the inauguration of new executives.
