DUTSE – The Chairman of PDP Governors Forum, Mr Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday urged clerics to pray for God’s intervention in the problem of insecurity confronting the nation.
Akpabio gave the charge when he led his counterparts to pay a courtesy call on the host, Gov. Sule Lamido, in Dutse.
The governors on the platform of PDP were in Dutse for a meeting of the forum.
Akpabio said the level of security needs God’s intervention for solution.
The governor said that people now hide under the insecurity bedeviling the nation to inflict mayhem on political opponents.
“People now use the security challenge to cause ethno-religious crisis in the country which is unfortunate.
“I am equally unhappy in what is happening in the north eastern part of the country. The insecurity will take the region 20 years backward”, he said.
Akpabio commended Lamido for his developmental strides in the state.
In his remarks, Lamido said he was honoured to host his colleagues.
He said that his party was the only hope for the country and called for unity among members to move the party forward.
Fifteen governors and four Deputy Governors were in attendance. (NAN)
