Bauchi- Alhaji Auwal Jatau, PDP gubernatorial candidate in Bauchi State, on Thursday donated N30 million to the victims of last week’s bomb blast at Bauchi Central Market.
Jatau made the donation in Bauchi, when he visited the scene of the incident to sympathize with the traders.
He called on the traders and all those affected in the incident to put their faith in Allah.
Jatau expressed sadness on the death of those killed while seeking for legitimate means of income and survival.
“I am sad and angry over the incident especially that some of our brothers have lost their lives.
“I am using this opportunity to condole all the families of those who lost their lives,” he added.
He also prayed for quick recovery of those admitted in hospitals and also prayed that Allah would deal with the perpetrators of the heinous crime accordingly.
Responding, the Chairman of the Traders Association, Alhaji Adamu Gona, thanked Jatau for the kind gesture and promised that the money would be used judiciously.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that apart from the money donated by Jatau, his associates donated additional N5 million. (NAN)
