TOTO (NASARAWA STATE) – Alhaji Mohammed Musa, the chairman, Toto Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, has called on Nigerians to embrace peace and unity and show love to one another for successful conduct of the 2015 general elections.
Musa, who made the call on Wednesday in Toto told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that peace and unity was a necessary ingredient for national development.
the people had realised that conflicts and violence stall development.
He said that no nation or society could develop in an atmosphere of rancour and confusion.
The chairman appealed to Nigerians to bury their differences, embrace peace and tolerate one another irrespective of their ethnic, religious and political affiliations.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”8″]
He urged religious leaders and traditional rulers to continue to preach the gospel of peace to their followers.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
Musa advised the youths not to allow selfish individuals use them to foment trouble even as he urged them to respect constituted authority and be law abiding.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
The local government boss urged unemployed youths to engage in meaningful ventures to make them self reliant and contribute their quota to national development. [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
While urging parents to give priority to the education of their children, Musa noted that education was the best legacy parents and governments should leave behind for the people.
He restated the determination of the council to initiate people oriented projects to fight poverty and youth restiveness. (NAN)
