The Police in Rafi local government area over the weekend killed 10 bandits who invaded Kundu community to abduct people.
The police however lost two operatives during a shoot out with the bandits.
According to people in the community, the bandits invaded the community but met the policemen on the ground ready to stop the attack.
It was learnt the bandits started shooting but the policemen repelled them.

Niger Governor Abubakar Sani-Bello on Sunday visited Kundu community to sympathise with the policemen appreciating them for being brave enough to face the bandits.
The Governor said his administration will do everything within its power to ensure the men get what they need.
The Governor was accompanied by Commissioner of Police, Adamu Usman and Brigade Commander in Niger state, Brigadier General Ademola Adedoja.
