The Adamawa State Police Command has raided a criminal hideout and killed two suspected kidnappers.
The command said Wednesday that its operatives achieved the feat with help from local hunters and vigilantes
“On 22/2/2022, the command disconnected the criminal network connecting part of Fokka Village and Ganye,” the police command said in a statement sent to newsmen in Yola, Wednesday evening.
“The operation,” the command added, “which was carried out by operatives of Ganye Division and the Hunters of Ganye at Fokka Hill situated at a remote side of Jaggu district in Ganye local government area, yielded positive results.”
The statement, which was signed by the state Police Public relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, added, “The outcome of these successes followed on cases bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms, amongst others.
“The suspected kidnappers, upon sighting our men, engaged them in a gun duel. As a result, two of them were neutralized. Others escaped with bullet wounds.”
Nguroje stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, had directed other DPOs to similarly go after the criminal elements in their areas of jurisdiction
