The Rivers State Police Command has warned that anyone protesting outside the approved venues for Saturday’s one-million-man march to end the #EndBadGovernance protest will be arrested.
The only locations allowed for the protest are Isaac Bora Park and Pleasure Park, both in Port Harcourt.
The police issued the warning amid concerns that some individuals might try to use the final day of the protest to cause chaos and loot under the guise of a hunger protest. The Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has directed that all protesters must stay within the designated areas to ensure their safety and prevent disorder.
The command emphasized that they will not tolerate any protests outside these areas and have instructed their officers to be on high alert. The public is advised to maintain peace and avoid any actions that could disturb public order.
