IBADAN – The police on Wednesday dragged 70-year-old Tijani Osuolale before an Iyaganku Senior Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly failing to produce an accused he stood surety for at the police station.
Osuolale was arraigned on a one-count charge of failing to produce an accused.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ojeleye told the court that Osuolale allegedly stood as surety for one Saidi Lafiku.
Lafiku was accused of obtaining N300,000 under false pretence, by a complainant who reported the matter at Iyaganku Police Station, Ibadan.
The prosecutor said that Osuolale allegedly failed to produce Lafiku he stood surety for, when Lafiku’s attention was needed at the police station on Dec. 1, 2014.
Ojeleye said the offence contravened Section 126 (2) of the Criminal Code Cap. 38, Vol.11, Laws of Oyo State 2000.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Senior Magistrate, Mrs Kehinde Omotosho granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till June 1 for mention. (NAN)
