ABUJA – The Society for Women in Taxation (SWIT), on Saturday elected Mrs Ezenwa Okorafor, the former National Secretary, as its new President.
The election was held at the on going 17th Annual Tax Conference (ATC) of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) in Abuja.
Okarafor, in her acceptance speech, pledged to ensure improved tax revenue drives, eliminating corrupt practices in tax sector and increased tax education among cotizenry.
The outgoing President of the Society, Mrs Justina Okoro , while handing over to the new president, said she would continue to render her support to the society.
Okoror, commended the Society for being in the vanguard of promoting taxation in Nigeria.
She explained that under her leadership, the society was guided by its objectives, including encouraging women to participate in tax the sector and reaching the highest peak in their career.

She said that the society had offered support to tertiary institutions that offered taxation as a course and had used appropriate mechanisms and institutions to protect women from gender discrimination.
